Novel Grey & Remy Meijers Present‘Formed in Suspension’ – A Limited Edition Art Series

We’re excited to announce our newest collaboration: ‘Formed in Suspension’, a limited edition art series created together with interior architect Remy Meijers. This marks our first joint project—and it’s a special one.

This series of ten unique objects is a poetic exploration of chemistry, nature, and time. Each piece is the result of an experimental process in which we added metal salts to fresh concrete. As the material reacts, crystals and patterns emerge naturally—shaped not by us, but by the chemistry itself. No two objects are the same.

“When Remy shared his desire to express his creativity in a new way, we proposed using concrete to create a series of artworks,” says Marjolein Deurloo. “It’s a challenging material that requires you to trust the process.The result—unexpected and organic—is a new expression of the material we continue to be fascinated by.”

A Poetic Process

Formed in Suspension captures a moment where form is still fluid, unfolding slowly over time. The crystals grow and attach to the surface in unpredictable ways. It’s a process of surrender, where nature takes the lead and control is left behind.

The series plays with the tension between structure and chaos, between manmade design and natural growth. It’s about letting go, and allowing beauty to emerge in its own way.

About Remy Meijers

Remy Meijers (1974) is an internationally renowned designer known for his high-end interior projects, including The Dylan Hotel in Amsterdam. His serene and refined design style has made him a well-known name in the Dutch design world,with work spanning interiors, furniture, and creative direction for brands like Borek, Nilson, and Cosentino.
